Member Spotlight – The Simple Nest

By Colby Dudal

At the Simple Nest on Main St. both new and antique items are available. Rin Peterson is one of the owners of The Simple Nest and described the store as having classic and well-made pieces that stand the test of time. The store certainly has that quality as it includes antiques standing next to newer pieces that are holiday or seasonal themed.

Along with her business partner Deb Bissell, Peterson decided to open up the store due to a long-lasting interest in antique and vintage items. Peterson said she really wanted Keene to have a store in its town that included antiques and items that could stand the test of time. Due to both of their interest in items that would stand the test of time, The Simple Nest opened in 2016.

One major aspect of The Simple Nest according to Peterson is the strive to find new items and seeing how they can fit with other items in the store. Peterson said this aspect of finding new items to add allows her to be creative and artsy. Peterson said she hopes that The Simple Nest helps people be able to appreciate their things. She goes on to say that she hopes people can add items from the store and put it in their homes and find appreciation for the items.

The Simple Nest is a member of the Greater Keene Chamber of Commerce and Peterson said she sees being a member as a way to connect with other businesses, network and have support for downtown businesses. https://www.facebook.com/thesimplenest.home/
